Role Overview:
The role involves ensuring that assigned electrical and mechanical tasks are carried out in accordance with the established procedures and specifications of the Principal, meeting time standards and maintaining high housekeeping standards. This will contribute to achieving or exceeding overall productivity and quality goals. Responsibilities include the installation of vehicle accessories, both internal and external, as well as media and entertainment systems, tailored to specific vehicle models and development requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned tasks according to the Principal’s work procedures, specifications, and time standards.
- Repair damaged vehicles in line with the vehicle Repair Manual and industry standards.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship to ensure customer satisfaction and reduce repeat work that wastes time and materials.
- Coordinate with the Team Leader for additional parts and labor approvals if necessary.
- Perform quality checks as required.
- Use safety equipment and adhere to safety and environmental procedures.
- Maintain a clean workplace, tools, and customer vehicles during servicing.
- Report any abnormalities during operations to the Team Leader and initiate incident reports.
- Work in a safe manner, following health and safety guidelines to prevent harm to oneself, others, and the environment.
- Plan and prioritize tasks when assigned multiple jobs.
- Accurately diagnose vehicle faults, with in-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair jobs, including wiring and fault rectification.
- Overhaul, repair, and reassemble complex mechanical components.
- Identify and resolve wheel alignment issues.
- Complete service documentation in accordance with dealer requirements.
- Access and familiarize yourself with the Principal’s online repair manual.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by a superior or manager, contributing to the team’s objectives.
- Follow the ALAC Quality Management System and engage in organizational improvement activities.
Required Skills for Success:
- Expertise in repairing both mechanical and electrical components with efficiency, adhering to a “fix it right the first time” policy.
- Experience with job card write-ups and basic diagnostic skills for mechanical and electronic faults.
- Experience in multi-brand automotive service centers is essential.
About the Team:
The role reports to the Vendor Manager and will involve working in a busy workshop environment.
What Makes You a Good Fit:
- At least 5 years of experience working with cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs).
- A clean UAE driving license is preferred.
- Expert knowledge of car accessories.
- The ability to explain car accessories to customers, if necessary.
