A Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality control process within an organization. They ensure products meet the required standards by monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Normal inspection activities include overseeing personnel and facilities to ensure the implementation of food safety regulations. This involves sampling and material examination practices where applicable. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively, document activities, and prepare reports. The supervisor is responsible for implementing the verification and monitoring plans set by the quality head and ensuring safety protocols are followed during production, with particular attention to food safety concerns and deviations. They also oversee quality assurance activities based on production parameters and enforce good manufacturing practices as well as prerequisite programs related to food safety management systems.

The role also involves training production personnel to share the necessary knowledge and ensuring that they can perform required tasks. The supervisor must be capable of troubleshooting problems, identifying root causes, and managing corrective actions based on monitored production processes.

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in food technology or related disciplines in quality management and control, depending on experience.
  • 2-6 years of experience in quality management, focusing on quality control and assurance.
  • Proficient knowledge in areas such as HACCP plan implementation, material inspection and testing (for raw materials, packaging, intermediate products), and other food safety practices like GMP, hygiene monitoring, vermin management, and waste management.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills in English (basic level) and Arabic (optional).
  • Proficient in basic computer applications.
  • Familiarity with food safety management system requirements, including GMP, HACCP, and FSSC.
  • Experience in date processing and manufacturing is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, command, and teamwork skills.
