Job Purpose:

To manage the daily operations of the entire workshop, ensuring that vehicle repairs, deliveries, and quality requirements are met within the agreed timelines, leading to improved revenue and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery:

  • Oversee and control daily production activities to ensure vehicle repairs and deliveries are completed on time.
  • Assist in maintaining work procedures for workshop technicians and mechanics.
  • Ensure timely job completion in line with quality standards outlined in the workshop manual, and ensure adherence to the manufacturer’s service processes.
  • Foster strong working relationships with other departments.
  • Coordinate with the parts department for critical and special requirements.
  • Oversee the induction and training of staff on equipment operations and skill improvement.
  • Review and approve repair estimates for customers, offering guidance as necessary.

Efficiency:

  • Ensure service efficiency in vehicle repair and maintenance to minimize or prevent any return jobs.
  • Provide proper guidelines for diagnosis procedures to avoid repeat issues.
  • Lead the workshop team effectively, ensuring team members are motivated and continuously developing their skills.
  • Ensure proper handling of parts to prevent damage and ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform road tests as required for specific cases.

Management:

  • Manage workshop activities to maximize resource and manpower utilization in vehicle repair and service.
  • Ensure the provision and regular maintenance of tools and equipment required for the workshop.
  • Monitor costs, timelines, and resources used, and take necessary actions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Participate in meetings with the General Manager and other department heads to review and address operational concerns.
  • Plan and coordinate resources efficiently to minimize interruptions and inefficiencies.
  • Analyze operational data to help management plan resources effectively, aiming for maximum customer satisfaction and departmental profitability.

Service:

  • Ensure top-quality customer care and service by the team, striving for the highest customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to provide the best service to customers.
  • Oversee vehicle delivery with service advisors to ensure quality service.
  • Address customer queries and concerns, escalating when necessary, and ensure corrective actions are prioritized.
  • Ensure continuous cleanliness and safety in the workshop environment.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and strive to achieve high customer promoter scores.

Team Management:

  • Build, manage, and motivate subordinates to ensure team cohesion and exceptional performance, maximizing productivity and achieving department goals.
  • Develop the team’s knowledge, skills, and attributes to ensure timely delivery and high-quality work.
  • Provide a supportive environment for knowledge and skills development.
  • Conduct staff appraisals to evaluate and enhance effectiveness in meeting departmental needs.
  • Foster a coaching and mentoring culture to improve team performance and development.
  • Share knowledge, provide feedback, and offer guidance to staff.
  • Ensure team members work safely and efficiently.
  • Identify staffing needs and participate in recruitment activities for current and future vacancies.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education:

  • Engineering Graduate
  • Training & Certifications – Dealer Standards

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the automobile industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.

Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Strong background in service management within a workshop or dealership.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques.
  • Ability to estimate the cost and time required for vehicle repairs.
  • Strong administrative and management skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage employees at various levels.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and handling difficult situations effectively.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain productive customer relationships.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to ensure efficient team and task management.
