Land Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Conduct precise measurements and determine property boundaries. Provide data related to the shape, contour, gravity, location, elevation, or dimensions of land or land features on or near the Earth’s surface for use in engineering, mapping, land assessment, and construction projects.
• Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to document, certify, and take responsibility for the work completed.
• Ensure the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations taken at survey sites.
• Oversee or carry out surveys to establish legal property boundaries.
• Record survey results, including land shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.
• Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other terrain characteristics.
• Prepare or supervise the preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
• Plan and execute ground surveys aimed at establishing baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.
• Coordinate findings with engineering and architectural teams, clients, and other stakeholders involved in the project.

Skills:

• 10 to 15 years of experience in a similar field.
• Degree in Surveying or related diploma.
• Strong numeracy skills and ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
