Responsibilities:
- Engineering Standards and Compliance:
Assist the Engineering Department in reviewing, updating, and implementing the company’s standards while incorporating amendments to external standards. Provide critical support in coordinating and executing technical services to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet requirements. - Technical Analysis and Calculations:
Perform key technical calculations such as Fiber Optic Link Budgeting, Data and Telephony Traffic Analysis, Capacity/Bandwidth Analysis, Public Address Sound Pressure Level evaluations, and assessments of Telecom Equipment Power Consumption and Heat Load. - Technical Standards and Codes:
- Support the identification and application of Telecommunication Engineering and Operations standards and codes.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations across all project phases.
- System Operation and Monitoring:
- Operate and monitor both physical and virtual telecommunication hardware and software systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
- Infrastructure Management Tools:
- Employ Telecommunication infrastructure management tools to optimize provisioning, testing, deployment, and monitoring activities.
- Assist in configuring and automating infrastructure processes to improve operational efficiency.
- System Design and Specifications:
- Contribute to the development of initial Telecommunication system designs and specifications, addressing objectives, scope, features, facilities, management, reliability, resilience, security, and constraints such as performance, resources, and cost.
- Document key system functions, information flows, traffic volumes, data loads, implementation strategies, development phasing, and alternative solutions.
- Lifecycle Management:
- Participate in all phases of the lifecycle for Telecommunication software, hardware, and transmission media, including investigation, analysis, specification, design, construction, testing, maintenance, upgrades, and migrations.
- Support lifecycle tracking, progress documentation, and deliverable management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education:
- Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND)
- Certificates in relevant disciplines
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry
