Solaris Sun Administrator($3,000 – $4,000)

Solaris Sun Administrator – Kuwait / Oil and Gas Sector

A. Accountabilities:

• Perform system builds and hardware upgrades for Solaris & UNIX servers, including hardware maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
• Maintain and enhance existing system administration tools.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to the operating system, server-side networking, and applications.
• Ensure effective communication with the IT team and other support organizations.
• Provide backup support for systems, including user menus, scripts, backup software, and web-based monitoring tools.
• Assist in reporting metrics related to system performance, stability, and utilization, whether in on-premises or cloud environments.

B. Qualifications:

• Proficient in Solaris 10 (with Solaris 11 experience being a plus).
• Experienced with Open Boot Prom (OBP).
• Skilled in installing patches and packages.
• Certified Solaris 10 & 11 Engineer.
• Strong experience with on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

C. Experience:

• A minimum of five years’ experience in administering Solaris & UNIX systems.

D. Education:

• University graduate in Computer/Electronics Engineering, Science, or Information Technology.

E. General Skills:

• Fluent in English, with bilingual skills preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

F. General Remarks:

• This role is based in Kuwait within the Oil & Gas sector.
• The salary range is between 3000 USD and 4000 USD, depending on qualifications and experience (non-negotiable).
