The role of the Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the field of Psychology includes teaching undergraduate students, providing academic guidance, engaging in professional development, and contributing to institutional/community service.
In particular, the applicant is expected to:
- Demonstrate a high level of skill and thorough knowledge in teaching courses related to their specialization.
- Develop curricula for courses pertinent to their area of expertise.
- Review and evaluate textbooks and recommend books and educational materials for students.
- Utilize and create a variety of educational resources that assist students in achieving course objectives.
- Make continuous efforts to enhance the quality of education through innovative methodologies, techniques, and teaching methods.
- Assess students to measure the attainment of course objectives and learning outcomes.
- Maintain student records and submit relevant reports and forms within required timelines.
- Effectively use technology for educational and administrative purposes.
- Teach courses at various times and across different college locations, catering to both male and female students based on the college’s needs.
- Hold office hours to address students’ needs.
- Actively participate in departmental, sectoral, and college-level activities and committees.
Qualifications:
The applicant must hold a master’s degree and a doctorate in Psychology from a globally recognized university.
Teaching Experience:
The applicant should have at least three years of teaching experience at an accredited university, with a preference for those who have taught in Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Required Skills:
The applicant is expected to be capable of teaching and performing assigned tasks, with proficiency in English and the ability to utilize modern technology. The applicant should maintain professionalism, ethics, and responsibility in interactions with students, faculty members, and staff.
