Job Purpose

The role is responsible for overseeing all activities related to Quality Assurance (QA), ensuring that these activities comply with the policies and procedures of Mohamed Naser Al-Hajery & Sons and adhere to leading QA practices.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Policies & Procedures

  • Monitor the implementation of established Quality Assurance policies and ensure compliance with other company policies of Mohamed Naser Al-Hajery & Sons.
  • Administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective actions for any violations of company policies, rules, and procedures in collaboration with supervisors.

Quality Assurance Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Quality Assurance systems and procedures are effectively implemented, including but not limited to:
    • Compliance with International Pharmaceutical Standards.
    • Adherence to International Quality Standards (such as GSP, GDP, and GMP requirements of WHO).
    • Compliance with MNH Supplier Quality Standards established through Technical Agreements.
    • Meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Approve incoming goods by verifying their quality (including physical parameters such as temperature) against the organization’s standards.
  • Ensure products are stored safely and separately from damaged, expired, or non-saleable items.
  • Oversee the thermal mapping of the warehouse and retain the relevant documentation.
  • Ensure regular calibration of temperature monitoring devices and verify the validity of calibration certificates.
  • Monitor product movement to and from the warehouse, ensuring compliance with specified temperature norms and handling procedures as defined by suppliers and MNH SOPs.
  • Keep track of the warehouse temperature (including chiller rooms) and the temperature of distribution vehicles, downloading and maintaining temperature reading reports for records.
  • Review actions taken in response to temperature deviations (both in the warehouse and during transit) and advise warehouse management on necessary measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • For products designated for damage, destruction, or recall, ensure that procedures in accordance with Quality SOPs are followed and that these goods are stored in a designated area.
  • Control access to various sections of the pharmaceutical warehouse (e.g., main entrance, damage/expiry stock area).
  • Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of the pharmaceutical warehouse, including receiving and quarantine areas.
  • Monitor pest control measures in the pharmaceutical warehouse.
  • Ensure the maintenance and safety of equipment utilized in the pharmaceutical warehouse.
  • Prepare and authorize Change Control documents for any significant alterations made to the warehouse processes or physical locations that could affect product quality.
  • Conduct training for warehouse personnel on fire and safety SOPs and carry out fire drills.
  • Develop an annual training plan and obtain approval from the Warehouse Manager.
  • Train relevant warehouse personnel on the implementation of Quality SOPs as per the training plan.
  • Maintain all necessary documentation (forms, agreements, etc.) to support effective quality management.
  • Conduct self-inspections according to the Self-Inspection Calendar, discuss results with warehouse staff, and monitor the implementation of action plans within agreed timelines.
  • Assist in the creation, review, revision, and management of standard control documents, including quality work instructions.
  • Monitor the implementation of approved SOPs in coordination with Warehouse Management.
  • Maintain risk registers and follow up with relevant management on implementing mitigation measures.
  • Foster effective communication with the supplier quality control function.
  • Assist Warehouse Management in conducting supplier audits.

Miscellaneous Duties

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Direct Manager.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Pharmacy.
  • Certification in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) is advantageous.

Work Experience & Other Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar field.
  • Knowledge of WHO best practices, including GMP, GSP, and GDP.
