We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Planning Manager (Kuwait residents only) to lead and supervise the planning and scheduling of construction projects.
Responsibilities:
Review and analyze the Bill of Quantities (BOQs) for both structural and finishing materials, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of material requirements for the project.
Lead and manage a project planning team consisting of at least five planning engineers.
Create and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure project plans are feasible and optimized for resource allocation.
Assess structural and construction drawings for consistency with project schedules, identifying any risks or discrepancies.
Conduct cost engineering evaluations and prepare bids and tender submissions for construction projects.
Oversee the integration of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) work into the overall project schedule, ensuring coordination with civil and structural tasks.
Ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality regulations throughout the construction process.
Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders, including clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Lead the preparation of progress reports, cash flow forecasts, and resource histograms for client updates and internal assessments.
Perform risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with project delays, resource challenges, or unexpected site conditions.
Monitor project performance metrics, identify potential bottlenecks, and initiate corrective actions as needed to ensure adherence to the schedule.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (minimum requirement); a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is highly desirable.
At least six years of experience in construction planning and project controls within the construction industry, with specific expertise in civil and structural engineering.
Proven experience in managing large-scale projects involving MEP works, including coordination with MEP contractors.
Proficient in using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project for planning, scheduling, and resource management.
Extensive experience in preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQs) for both structural and finishing materials.
In-depth knowledge of cost engineering principles and experience in preparing bids and tenders for construction projects.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and interpret structural and construction drawings.
Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and risk management techniques.
Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
