A Pre-KG Teacher is responsible for educating young children in the early stages of their academic journey, typically for children aged 3 to 5 years. The role involves planning lessons, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with parents to support each child’s growth and development. Responsibilities:

  1. Organizes and provides developmentally appropriate early childhood education programs, planning and implementing curriculum for children aged 16 months to 6 years.
  2. Provides activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving, tailored to the developmental levels and learning styles of children.
  3. Plans and prepares the classroom environment, ensuring safety and overseeing educational programs. Supervises children in the classroom, fostering a supportive environment for learning and practicing appropriate individual and group behaviors.
  4. Interacts with parents and community groups, maintaining open and cooperative communication with families, encouraging their involvement in the program, and supporting the child’s family relationships.

Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status: A degree-level qualification.
  • Successful and recent teaching experience, preferably in a Montessori setting.
  • Proficient in delivering the American Curriculum or similar child-led curriculum.
  • Knowledge of early childhood teaching and learning strategies, with a commitment to play-based child development.
  • Able to assess and plan for the short, medium, and long-term needs of all students.
  • Effective use of resources, including support staff, to ensure an enriched education for children.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster good behavior and build relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
