The role of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Media Studies includes teaching undergraduate students, providing academic advising, fostering professional development, and engaging in institutional and community service.
Specifically, the applicant is expected to:
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and a high level of skill in teaching courses related to their field.
- Develop curricula for courses relevant to their specialization.
- Review and evaluate textbooks, recommending suitable books and educational materials for students.
- Use and create a variety of educational resources that support students in achieving course objectives.
- Continuously strive to improve the quality of education by implementing innovative teaching methodologies, techniques, and approaches.
- Assess students to measure the achievement of course objectives and learning outcomes.
- Maintain student records and submit relevant reports and forms according to required timelines.
- Be proficient in using technology effectively for educational and administrative purposes.
- Teach courses at various times and locations as needed by the college, including classes for both male and female students.
- Hold office hours to address students’ needs.
- Actively participate in departmental, sectoral, and college-level activities and committees.
Qualifications: The applicant must hold a Master’s or Ph.D. in Media Studies from an internationally recognized university.
Teaching Experience: The applicant should have at least three years of teaching experience at a recognized university, with preference given to those with experience in Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Required Skills: The candidate is expected to be capable of effective teaching and task performance, with proficiency in English, adept in modern technology, and committed to maintaining professionalism, ethics, and responsibility in interactions with students, faculty, and staff.
