The College of Engineering and Technology is inviting applications for instructional faculty positions in the Industrial Trades (Industrial Electrical) Department at the Industrial Trades Instructor rank.
Responsibilities As an instructional faculty member, you will report to the Head of the Department and be responsible for delivering and assessing a wide range of courses within the Industrial Trades (Industrial Electrical) programs. You will monitor student progress and manage the learning environment’s resources. Additionally, you will be responsible for the inventory, upkeep, and maintenance of workshop and laboratory equipment within your specific program area. You will collaborate with other instructional members, faculty, and staff to provide exceptional learning experiences for students.
You will maintain course portfolio documents for program review and accreditation purposes and contribute to the development of instructional and new programs. The College encourages applications from instructional members who can enhance innovation.
Qualifications and Experience
Instructional faculty members will be appointed according to their qualifications and experience. The general requirements are as follows:
For Industrial Trades Instructor
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant trade certification in the discipline, with professional credentials (LV and HV Power or Renewable Energy) from a recognized institution.
Experience
At least five (5) years of practical experience in the relevant field.
A minimum of three (3) years of training experience.
Proficiency in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
Ability to apply various teaching approaches in the classroom, laboratory, simulations, and practicums.
Competency with educational technology and platforms.
Strong academic and information literacy skills.
