Job Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and cooking Italian dishes under the Head Chef’s supervision.
- Uphold high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
- Contribute to the development of new menu items and seasonal dishes.
- Support in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff to meet restaurant standards.
- Monitor kitchen supply stock levels and assist in inventory management.
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to the restaurant’s specifications and quality expectations.
- Participate in daily kitchen operations, including setup and cleanup duties.
- Manage food allergies and dietary restrictions with care and attention.
Skills
Essential Qualifications
- Vocational training in culinary arts or a related field.
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Desired Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within an Italian restaurant or high-volume kitchen.
- Experience in leading small teams and fostering a collaborative kitchen environment.
- Proven skill in preparing and replicating authentic Italian dishes.
