Job Title: Auto Technician – C
Reporting to: Service Manager
The technician is responsible for performing effective and efficient repairs and maintenance on customer vehicles, following the manufacturer’s approved repair techniques.
Job Responsibilities:
- Carefully review the repair order and understand its contents. Seek clarification if needed before starting the job. If diagnostic tasks are combined with routine jobs, ensure that diagnostics are performed first, and obtain approval for any additional work before proceeding with routine tasks. If the complaint is unclear, request clarification before beginning. If necessary, conduct a road test or consult the Service Advisor / Team Leader for more details.
- Review the manufacturer’s information for each customer complaint to check if a technical bulletin or a related campaign is available.
- Complete assigned work using approved GM repair methods after fully understanding the task. Ensure that time tracking is done accurately on both the system and manually for all jobs (Retail, Warranty, and Internal). Once the work is finished, submit the Repair Order to the Team Leader / Quality Controller for quality inspection and sign-off. If QC approval is not granted, rework should begin immediately and be completed.
- For all diagnostic-related complaints, prepare an estimate after diagnosing the issue. The estimate must be signed off before being sent to the Service Advisor for approval. Utilize past repair records to help make repair decisions or recommendations.
- Strictly follow the policies and procedures for warranty jobs. Refer to the up-to-date P&P guide available at the warranty office for reference.
- Place parts orders as early as possible to save time and allow for maximum delivery time. Return all displaced parts for warranty to the warranty store, and handle parts for retail jobs according to the Service Advisor’s instructions.
- Handle work-related issues with colleagues courteously. Continuously improve diagnostic skills through collaboration with colleagues and manufacturer-provided repair information. Communicate proactively with the Quality Controller to anticipate and correct vehicle defects. Any training requirements should be communicated to the Team Leader.
- Regularly maintain allocated tools and report any breakages or missing items. Handle special service tools with care and return them to the tool store after use. Ensure compliance with the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment standards. Protect the vehicle’s interior (seat covers, steering covers, and floor mats) and exterior (fender covers, etc.) while in the workshop for service or repairs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Three years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- A Kuwaiti driving license is a plus.
- Good conduct and polite behavior toward customers.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
