Test Equipment Quality Engineer

What You Will Do

  • Provide Quality Engineering support for the Test Manufacturing organization consisting of 40 Planners and 40 Assembly, Test and Inspection technicians.
  • Ensure Program Quality is aware of build-related issues that might impact program risk.
  • Provide defect disposition if the criteria are ambiguous or subject to interpretation.
  • Monthly TE metrics preparation.
  • Maintain the Lien and Administrative Closure systems.
  • Work with key Build-to-Print suppliers in defect resolution and reduction efforts.
  • Manage Q-Notes in EMMS (Engineering Manufacturing Management System).
  • Become proficient in EMMS and its features, including Work Orders, Non-Conforming Material Reports, Report generation and related department workflows.
  • Develop and present Quality Topics at Lunch and Learn’s at Planner Meetings and other department venues.
  • Develop, update and maintain Process documentation and Command Media surrounding Test Equipment Quality, Test Manufacturing, and the Test Manufacturing TE-04-03 Workmanship Standard
  • Act as a Quality Subject Matter Expert in conjunction with Test Manufacturing leadership to drive down defects and address quality, process, supplier, manufacturing, supply chain and other related issues throughout all life-cycle phases.
  • Assess engineering work products (Peer Reviews, Configuration Control Boards, Product Readiness and Sale, etc.) to identify and eliminate in-phase defects.
  • Review contract deliverables and coordinate with program personnel and Defense Contract Management Agency for DD250 sell-off / customer acceptance.
  • Ensure completion of required documentation, identification of nonconformance and noncompliance, resolution and closure of open issues, and ensures quality and configuration of program assets.
  • Review risk and opportunity data to lead projects to eliminate or reduce risks and/or realize opportunities.
  • Lead and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, and implement closed loop process controls along with continuous improvement methods
  • Travel to local (Tucson and Phoenix-Metro) suppliers to maintain relationship and work ongoing process improvement and defect reduction efforts.

 

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Minimum five years Test Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, or Engineering experience in the aerospace and/or defense industry, or other highly regulated environment.
  • Working experience in root cause analysis, corrective / preventive actions.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Existing Secret Clearance or higher
  • Working experience interpreting drawings/specifications.
  • Test Equipment development and/or testing experience
  • Working experience performing test analyses, and supporting integration. and sell-off of test equipment.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (RCCA) expertise
  • Prior Quality Engineering experience
  • Domain knowledge in Agile, Code Analysis and/or Test Automation techniques
  • Certification in Six Sigma, CORE, or American Society for Quality (ASQ).
