A Technical Manager oversees the technical operations of an organization. They are responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring the smooth running of IT systems, and developing and implementing technical strategies.

Job Title: Technical Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Oversight: Monitor and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure design accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project scope and timeline.
- Document Management: Maintain a comprehensive record of design submissions and correspondence from consultants.
- Variation Order Evaluation: Evaluate and endorse variation orders and concession requests submitted by consultants for client approval.
- Design Review: Review and comment on all design drawings and documents, ensuring incorporation of revisions.
- Technical Transmittal: Prepare and manage technical transmittals, including shop drawings, proposals, and RFIs.
- Design Collaboration: Facilitate meetings with consultants, sub-consultants, and the client to review design documents and make informed decisions.
- Value Engineering: Propose alternative materials and systems to optimize design and construction costs.
- Team Management: Establish and manage a dedicated design team onsite to monitor consultant and contractor work.
- Performance Management: Set goals, conduct appraisals, and provide skill development opportunities for team members.
- Documentation and Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate documentation, filing, and reporting of design information.
- Client Liaison: Maintain regular communication with the client to address design issues and ensure satisfaction.
- Industry Best Practices: Stay updated on industry trends, methodologies, and best practices in project management and design engineering.
- Continuous Improvement: Adapt and adopt best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- 12+ years of experience in relevant field
- Immediate availability
- Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering
- UPDA Certified (Grade A)
- Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in relevant design software and tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
