Personnel should be capable of managing all incoming shipments for different business units by handling original documents, coordinating with shipping lines, transporters, the clearance team, and the finance/group control team, and closing the job file promptly. They should contribute to enhancing organizational operations by raising quality standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Alghanim business units and overseas suppliers to ensure timely receipt of shipping documents before the vessel’s arrival.
- Prepare clearance documents in advance to expedite the delivery of shipments to the warehouse.
- Work with Alghanim business units and the warehouse to secure delivery schedules and coordinate with transport companies to deliver shipments strictly on time, minimizing demurrage costs.
- Verify all sea, land, and air freight and forwarding charges within the specified period from the date of document receipt.
- Update shipment milestones daily on the SCM ERP for real-time tracking, providing visibility to Alghanim business units through our website.
- Maintain both physical and electronic filing systems with all received original documents, including invoices, cash receipts, and delivery notes.
Skills:
- Preference for Kuwaiti nationals.
- 1-2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and freight forwarding application systems.
- Strong interest and experience in interacting across all organizational levels and departments.
- Familiarity with shipping and freight forwarding business terms and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Language skills in English and Arabic, with proficiency in writing, reading, and speaking as a primary requirement.
