Job Summary
We are seeking a Data Scientist responsible for modeling complex problems, discovering insights, and identifying opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. The role involves integrating and preparing large, varied datasets, architecting specialized database and computing environments, and communicating the results to the business. The goal is to turn big data into critical information and knowledge that can drive sound organizational decisions and foster change.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead discovery processes with stakeholders to identify business requirements and expected outcomes by modeling complex problems, discovering insights, and identifying opportunities through statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques.
- Apply data mining techniques, conduct statistical analysis, and develop high-quality prediction systems that are relevant to the business and its operations.
- Discover hidden information in large and varied data sources and perform statistical analysis to produce valuable business insights, such as market trends, customer profiles, and behavioral predictions.
- Lead the use of machine learning-based tools such as regression, clustering, principal component analysis, and others in the Commercial Department.
- Model and frame business scenarios that impact critical business decisions and processes.
- Identify and leverage internal and external data sources, including smart meters, geo-location information, and social media.
- Make strategic recommendations on data collection, integration, and retention, incorporating business requirements and best practices.
- Develop innovative approaches to solve analytical problems and communicate results and methodologies effectively.
- Validate findings and test hypotheses through an experimental and iterative approach, including scenario modeling.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum Experience:
- Proficiency in Python or R.
- At least 5 years of experience modeling complex problems, discovering insights, and identifying opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques.
- Expertise in analyzing complex customer and/or commercial data.
- Specialist skills in research methodologies, consumer behavior, and market research.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in analytical and visualization systems/tools such as SSRS, SQL, Power BI, Cognos, etc.
- Skills in data extraction, transformation, and visual analytics.
- Experience in customer service, customer success, or customer experience.
- Excellent written and spoken English.

- Knowledge of banking products.
