Duties & Responsibilities:
Shop Management and Coordination: Responsible for directing activities within the body repair shop, which includes supervising technicians, ensuring quality standards, managing workflow, customer service, and enforcing safety regulations. The supervisor plays a vital role in delivering timely, cost-effective, and high-quality vehicle repairs while achieving customer satisfaction.
Supervision and Team Management:
Lead and manage a team of body repair technicians, painters, and shop staff.
Assign tasks to technicians according to skill level and job priority.
Ensure staff are trained in current repair techniques and safety protocols.
Monitor and assess work performance, providing feedback and support as needed.
Operations Management:
Oversee daily operations of the body shop, ensuring a smooth workflow and minimizing downtime.
Inspect vehicles to evaluate repair requirements based on customer needs and damage assessment.
Ensure all repair work meets safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Develop and maintain work schedules to meet repair deadlines.
Customer Service:
Communicate with customers to provide updates on repair status, timelines, and costs.
Address customer concerns, ensuring satisfaction and resolving any issues.
Provide repair job estimates and maintain transparency in pricing and procedures.
Quality Control:
Perform final quality checks on vehicles before customer return.
Ensure all repairs align with company and industry standards for safety and aesthetics.
Monitor compliance with local regulations and best practices in the industry.
Inventory and Equipment Management:
Maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment necessary for repairs.
Ensure all tools and equipment are well-maintained and operational.
Order replacement parts and materials as needed, managing costs and minimizing waste.
Safety and Compliance:
Implement and enforce shop safety protocols and procedures.
Ensure all technicians adhere to safety standards to prevent accidents and injuries.
Comply with environmental regulations, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
Prepare reports on shop performance, productivity, and profitability for management review.
Accountable for both qualitative and quantitative operations of the body shop.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
