Job Description:
The role involves planning, scheduling, supervising, and overseeing all field engineering tasks with administrative authority. You will be responsible for controlling field engineering activities, preparing construction and procurement schedules, negotiating subcontractor agreements, and providing technical direction to support construction operations, ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry standards. Willingness to relocate to construction sites is required.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, staff, execute, and monitor all field engineering activities and related support operations.
Provide guidance on scope of work, schedules, procedures, construction challenges, and technical details. Determine budget estimates and staffing needs for defined scopes and timelines.
Implement and maintain quality control for construction engineering in the field.
Collaborate with construction management to address hazards affecting the environment, safety, or employee health. Ensure adherence to site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.
Maintain close relationships with project design teams, client representatives, and contractors.
Manage project control documents, design drawings, specifications, change orders, and related records.
Monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to schedules and specifications.
Conduct performance evaluations of assigned personnel.
Make decisions on long-term planning, scheduling, budgeting, prioritization, and staffing.
Provide advice on field engineering procedures, construction methods, and financial issues to management.
Regularly interact with senior management and client personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements for Success in this Role:
Proven leadership skills.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with at least 10 years of experience, or an MSc with 7 years of post-graduate experience in site supervision and contract management.
Experience managing engineering processes, contracts, value engineering, and policies.
Proficiency in relevant IT skills and computer literacy.
Focus on Quality Assurance, Specifications, and Statistical Quality Control.
Ability to review shop drawings and conduct acceptance/factory tests to ensure compliance with project specifications.
Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
Comprehensive knowledge of contractual relationships, international standards, codes, and ADM regulations.
In-depth understanding of construction-related processes and industry practices.
Commitment to quality and safety standards.
Proactive and inquisitive mindset.
UAE driving license.
