Business Development Engineer
The Business Development Engineer will lead growth efforts by identifying and creating new business opportunities within the upstream oil & gas sector. This role includes analyzing market trends, crafting technical and commercial proposals, building relationships with clients and stakeholders, and contributing to project acquisition strategies. The position requires a blend of engineering expertise and business insight, focusing on maximizing profitability and expanding the company’s market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research & Strategy Formation:
- Conduct research to identify emerging trends, competitors, and potential opportunities in the upstream oil & gas industry.
- Work with leadership to create and implement strategic business plans that align with company growth objectives.
- Assess the technical and commercial feasibility of potential projects to guide decision-making.
Opportunity Identification & Pipeline Management:
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and projects that align with the company’s expertise and focus.
- Develop and manage a project pipeline by tracking potential opportunities and following up on leads.
Proposal Development:
- Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals for new projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications and regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop competitive and technically accurate project proposals.
Client Relationship Management:
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, industry partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing technical details, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Negotiation & Contracting:
- Assist in negotiating project terms, contracts, and pricing with clients and vendors.
- Ensure that all contracts align with the company’s risk management, legal, and compliance standards.
Collaboration with Technical Teams:
- Work closely with internal technical teams to ensure project feasibility, budget alignment, and resource allocation.
- Communicate client requirements and project goals to engineering teams for successful execution.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track project and business development performance, providing regular updates to management.
- Prepare reports and presentations on business activities, performance, and opportunities.
Skills:
- Technical & Commercial Acumen: Ability to translate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in evaluating technical data and market insights for informed decision-making.
