Responsibilities:
- Assumes full responsibility for the management and operations of the Biomedical Engineering section at the American Hospital Dubai during the Senior Biomedical Engineer’s absence.
- Oversees the planning of new projects and the expansion of existing services.
- Responds to on-call duties after hours in case of emergencies.
- Manages the receipt, installation, documentation, and handover of demo or backup units from vendors to end users.
- Handles maintenance requests for medical equipment through Service Requisition Software (iService) across the hospital.
- Conducts testing on all hospital medical equipment.
- Addresses any maintenance requests related to medical equipment throughout the hospital.
- Ensures that all medical equipment complies with the hospital’s preventive and corrective maintenance policies.
- Organizes and delivers training, demonstrations, and in-service sessions for designated users.
- Adheres to the department’s standards, policies, procedures, and protocols regarding Biomedical Engineering Services.
- Promotes a safe environment by implementing best practices and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules in line with ECRI, JCIA, and other industry standards.
- Ensures optimal operational efficiency and continuous safe practices.
- Participates in ongoing educational activities related to Biomedical Engineering.
- Maintains compliance with all hospital maintenance policies for medical equipment.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- UAE Driver’s license preferred.
Professional Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the maintenance and management of medical equipment, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of current regulatory and safety requirements.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
