An Assistant Relationship Manager plays a vital role in supporting senior relationship managers by handling client interactions, providing administrative assistance, and ensuring smooth service delivery. They help in managing client portfolios, preparing reports, and maintaining strong relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and business growth.

Relationship Management

  • Coordinate daily business development activities and processes for the Wholesale Banking portfolio, while acquiring new customers to help achieve corporate banking growth objectives.
  • Follow appropriate due diligence processes and structure to safeguard the Bank’s interests, efficiently booking new relationships.
  • Maximize product penetration and cross-selling by conducting joint customer visits with relevant CBQ specialists to support overall sales activities.
  • Provide ongoing research on structured finance and investment banking opportunities.
  • Contribute to the identification and establishment of new relationships aligned with the Bank’s strategic and commercial goals.
  • Prepare and conduct regular meetings with portfolio clients to introduce CBQ products and services, maximizing portfolio revenue and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in maintaining continuous dialogue with customers to ensure they are aware of all CBQ products and services relevant to their needs and credit analysis.
  • Collect credit requests and documents from customers, performing necessary analysis to check compliance with preliminary rejection criteria, and submit documents to Credit Analysis to facilitate the credit approval process.
  • Ensure timely payment collections by reminding customers of due dates and actively pursuing renewals.

Customer Analysis

  • Collect and analyze information on existing and potential customers, assessing their creditworthiness and financial data to ensure a smooth workflow with all required information available.
  • Profile existing and potential clients to identify their banking needs, introducing appropriate products and services.
  • Develop account plans consistently and promptly to follow up on identified business opportunities and regularly update the team leader on portfolio progress.
  • Manage client portfolios to maximize product sales, footprint, assets under management (AUM), and optimize returns.
  • Monitor, review, and manage lending portfolio performance, risk, and support collection efforts.

  • Recommend improvements to departmental procedures and oversee the implementation of instructions and controls in specific areas to ensure compliance with relevant procedural and legislative requirements while delivering a cost-effective and quality service.

Quality, Health, Safety & Environment

  • Ensure adherence to quality, health, safety, and environmental management procedures within the designated area to ensure employee safety, compliance, high-quality product/service delivery, and a responsible environmental approach.

MIS and Reports

  • Prepare timely and accurate departmental MIS reports to meet CBQ and department requirements, policies, and standards.
