VDI Administrator – Kuwait

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled VDI Horizon System Administrator to manage and support our virtual desktop infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VMware Horizon, in-depth knowledge of VDI technologies, and a proven track record in managing and optimizing VDI environments. This role involves provisioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting VDI systems to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.

Experience:

  • Support and manage VMware Horizon View (VDI) infrastructure.
  • Analyze, administer, and provide support for VMware Horizon View VDI.
  • Provision servers, including adding, allocating, and managing vDisks for end-user devices.
  • Provide administration support for VMware AppVolumes.
  • Build AppStacks, install packages, and maintain them.
  • Develop scripts to automate VDI environment monitoring.
  • Respond to end-user requests for technical support and assistance within established procedures.
  • Build and maintain desktop pools.
  • Manage and troubleshoot the migration from Citrix XenDesktop to the Horizon environment (an added advantage).
  • Knowledge of ITIL tools, such as Remedy.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes like Incident Management and Change Management.
  • Day-to-day administration of L1/L2 BAU tasks.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders and offshore teams. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major incidents.
  • Experience in upgrading and maintaining VMware Horizon, AppVolumes, DEM, UAG, and NSX.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting and automation, particularly using PowerShell, for VDI health checks and other tasks.
  • Proven ability to perform regular health checks, maintenance, and patch management for VDI systems.
  • Experience with capacity planning and performance optimization of VDI infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of security practices, including renewing certificates and applying patches for vulnerabilities.
